Broken Promise 2: The Promising
Jun. 16th, 2012 03:40 pmWhen it comes to the Avatar franchise, it's either boom or bust. Since the original Avatar: The Last Airbender cartoon series ended in 2008, little has been released for the property aside from an Art Book in 2010, but that was but a brief sip of water to the thirsty fans traveling across a four-year-long desert. (Then again, it could be worse; Moses could be our travel guide.) Now, a sequel series called The Legend of Korra is about to air its season finale, and Dark Horse continues to publish its series of graphic novels with Avatar: The LastAirbender, The Promise - Part 2. Those who read my review of the first part may recall that I had plenty to say about the book's flaws, and the many ways it failed to live up to the cartoon epic to which it purports to be a sequel. I'm sure everyone who's reading this is just burning to know if I think Part 2 is just as bad.
Well, I'm hardly going to give that away in the opening paragraph, am I? Massive spoilers coming, sweetie.
