Haha, yeah that's great. The Blue Spirit would be perfect for the 11 but His Majesty Firelord Zuko is not. Perhaps Sokka asks Zuko to come along as the Blue Spirit but Zuko is forced to turn him down because he is a head of state now and isn't going through a quarter life crisis (cuz Zuko's entire life is a crisis of angst on a daily basis anyway;-) ). But say someone else adopts the Blue Spirit's identity for the mission. Maybe it's Mai in disguise, or Suki (who's mad Sokka didn't invite her along) and shows up halfway through the adventure to join them. Or maybe it's Sokka himself as the Blue Spirit (with Zuko's blessing?) trying to hide his own identity from the rest of this motley crew he assembles (well aside from Toph and Appa). Or perhaps Sokka borrows the Blue Spirit secret identity to try and hide his own (as respected son of the SWT's chief and person who once saved the world) from the law since he will be stealing after all even if it might be for a good cause. (Are they going to steal something or just break the bank Loopy or both?)
Perhaps the Blue Spirit comes to someone's rescue at some point in the story and we never find out who it really was. Maybe Zuko did accept Sokka's invitation in a way or maybe it was someone else completely. The world may never know. ;-)
